WHAT A TERRIFIC SNAPSHOT! I can't believe that was an accident, can you? In answer to your question, I am a court reporter (or stenographer). So is another person on my favorites list, Junkmel.diaryland.com. She lives in Mississippi and I live in northern Arkansas. Believe me, contrary to popular belief, not everyone in the ozarks is a hillbilly (although they do exist). What a court reporter does is take down a verbatim record of all court proceedings. We are occasionally asked to produce a type-written transcript of the proceedings. Believe me, court is NOT what you see on television court shows like Judge Judy. It's much more formal. Attorneys encourage their clients to conduct themselves and use good manners. If people on these court TV shows behaved themselves like they are suppsed to in real life court situations, no one would watch the show. Occasionally I try to blog about what happens in our various courtrooms, but usually it's just way too boring. I mean, who wants to read about someone's custody case? The judge I work for rarely tries a criminal case, and most of the time those are just a big yawn. About the only crimes we have is connected to meth or other illegal drugs. However, we do have our own unsolved mystery case. Over the past two years, four people have disappeared, one by one. They all lived in the same small town, and to date not one of them has been found or heard from.

I'm sorry. Junkmel's diaryland address that I gave you before was incorrect. It is Junkmel1.diaryland.com. She's always an interesting read with two little boys, and a dog and a cat or two that keep her life jumping.
