I loved your entry today. Those are the kind of stories that make everyone of us who lived in the sixties remember... something. I remember taking "Mom's" lunches to elementary school in a lunch box. You remember? the kind with a short, squat thermo. My thermos always held soup; probably Campbells chicken and rice. We bought milk, white or chocolate, in tiny individual cartons that cost two or three cents a carton, and we drank the milk through a straw. When I was in the first grade, all students either went home for lunch or ate from their lunch boxes at their desks.

Thanks for the rememberance of the "olden days" when we at lunch made with love from our Mom's on white bread. I loved your entry. By the way, I never heard the term "nose" for the ends of the loaf...I always called them the butt.
